Review of Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge

Wilderness lodge review This resort reminds me of Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone National Park. It’s reminiscent of national park lodges in the 20th century and has exposed log columns, waterfalls, and a rustic cabin feel. The Wilderness lodge has a beach and a pool that appears to be a mountain spring. The last refurbishment was in 2012, so everything still feels pretty new.

There are many perks of staying at this resort. Here are its best features:

  • Fun national park theming that is suitable for adults and kids
  • Most rooms have balconies with a view
  • On-site child care
  • Connected by boat to the Magic Kingdom
  • Adult lounge area
  • Close to the recreational options, including bike and boat rentals, jogging trails, and fishing
  • One of the least expensive Deluxe resorts
  • Some rooms have bunk beds
  • Heated pool surrounded by pine trees and boulders

This resort has a couple of drawbacks, but not many:

  • One of a couple Deluxe resorts without character dining
  • Bus transportation is often shared with the neighboring Fort Wilderness resort
  • Rooms are the smallest of all Deluxe resorts
