Disneyland Grand Californian Hotel Review with Pros and Cons

Grand Californian Hotel Overview

As the most luxurious on-property Disneyland hotel, the Grand Californian was designed by the same architect that designed Walt Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge. The hotel has a stunning 6-story lobby made of stone and wood for a rustic, national park feeling. The theme is the great outdoors of California, as evident in the nature inspired décor throughout. As the most impressive of the Disneyland property hotels, this hotel offers many pros and but too many cons:

Pros:

  • Private theme park entrance into California Adventure
  • Easy walk to Disneyland Park or catch the monorail
  • Beautifully themed pool areas (3 to be exact!) with a redwood tree, curving waterslide, brick walls, and boulders
  • On-site luxury spa
  • On-site fitness center
  • Character dining at Storytellers Café
  • Children’s activity center, Pinocchio’s Workshop
  • With Downtown Disney located right outside the hotel, there are many shopping and restaurant choices nearby

Cons:

  • The most expensive on-property hotel at $350+ per night
  • Less exciting atmosphere as the other two on-property hotels
